About
Rising Athletes Stories is about the early journeys that shape a life in sport. We cover how young people begin, practise, play with others and make sense of progress, with attention to the everyday choices that can make participation more inviting.
For young athletes and the people beside them
Our readers may be young people curious about sport, or the parents, carers, coaches and teachers who support them. We write for a general audience and explain ideas in direct language, without assuming specialist knowledge or promising a particular outcome.
Sport as a place to learn
We look at movement skills, practice, team habits, confidence and the experience of joining in. The emphasis is on learning and participation, not rankings, elite performance or pressure to specialise. We favour ideas readers can consider in ordinary play and everyday sessions.
A thoughtful pace
A young athlete's experience is shaped by more than a drill or a result. We make room for curiosity, enjoyment, changing interests and the different ways people learn. Our articles aim to give readers a useful way to think about sport, while leaving individual choices with the people involved.
Progress can begin with play
Young athletes grow through patient practice, room to explore and people who make sport feel worth returning to.
